Remember when the Senate Majority Leader said he had no higher agenda but to block everything Obama tried to do as president? Certainly there were more pressing issues facing our nation, but what McConnell thought most important was blocking a black man. It is this impulse that Trump harnessed to build the mob that carried him to the presidency, that most American value, white supremacy.

Trump built his mob with white supremacy. He had help from the rapture fiends who think he is God, and from his Russian handler, I imagine, and frankly other nations who think having Trump in office works to their advantage. He had help from big tech billionaires. None of this help absolves the people who voted for him of the responsibility for electing a microphone fellating adjudicated rapist and convicted felon to are nation’s highest office.

In the same way Trump used his mob to get the presidency, the billionaires are using trump to gain power. He handles the mob, wins the presidency, and is ‘retired’ leaving Vance is in charge. Vance is an entirely owned subsidiary of big tech money and they will use him to skirt taxes, kill off regulation, play crypto currency and build their network state. Corporate interests will continue to strip the US of assets and build gated strongholds in New Zealand or the Emirates or someplace. The performative cruelty of the racist attacks, minority persecution, migrant deportation will continue because it appeases the mob.

This is capitalism rising from economic system to the organizing principle of our whole society, supplanting the role of democracy in our government. Our society’s perennial weaknesses was used against us. Flip that script. It is money they care about. Let’s find a way to make them pay. We can at least cut into the profit margins.
